Founder

Denise started off her “adult” life working as a photo editor in the newspaper industry and then as a contract photographer for the military. But her marriage to a military man made it difficult to find jobs in some of the more unusual locations they were assigned. 

So she created her own assignment: document the hidden nooks and crannies of the world with stories and photos wherever the military powers that be sent their family.

Eventually she started a photography business with her Dad, a retired commercial advertising photographer. But she kept thinking about all of those travel photos she’d stockpiled courtesy of the Army. She finally decided to create PCS Adventures with the goal of helping service members and their families embrace their military journey.

When she’s not out exploring with her own super hero husband of 26 years and their wonder dog Smilla, you’ll find her feeding her slightly obsessive gardening habit that centers around flowers for hummingbirds and occasionally vegetables. She also enjoys baking cookie masterpieces and sipping hot cinnamon tea while devouring good books. A true Texan, she never turns down authentic TexMex food or Blue Bell ice cream.

Writer

Ande is a wife of 19 years to her soldier, Tim. They are a later-in-life Army family, having spent several years in the civilian world after graduating from college. During that time, Ande was a college administrator.  She traded that job to homeschool her sons Hunter and Jon.

Ande currently works as the Flagg Family CFO, fulfilling her Household 6 duties. Additionally she occupies her time with chapel Bible and fellowship groups, cooking and baking, enjoying the area and catching up with family who, in an unexpected bonus, actually live close enough to her current home to visit on the weekend.

Ande brings her unique perspective to writing for PCS Adventures.  She grew up in a military family and enjoyed traveling extensively with her parents.   She continues that travel tradition with her husband and children, offering them much of the joy she experienced as military child.  She joined the PCS Adventures team to help other families discover joy in their military journey.

Copy Editor

Allison Hoy, a military spouse for 10 years and counting, and mama to a first-grader, spent her pre-milspouse days as a journalist.

She has written for five newspapers and additional publications and entities, including her collegiate work while earning a bachelor’s of science degree in print journalism from Bowling Green (Ohio) State University. She served as editor of the campus magazine, and also copy edited for the newspaper she interned with in upstate New York. She reported and wrote full-time for a daily newspaper before marrying and moving with her soldier.

A self-proclaimed grammar nerd, she enjoys editing, as well as traveling with her family and visiting relatives in her home state, Ohio.

Getting involved at each of her husband’s duty stations is also important to Allison. She hopes to help make a difference in the lives of military families through PCS Adventures. To her, each move is truly an adventure.

Graphic Designer

Faith, a military spouse of 10 years, enjoys using her design skills wherever the Army sends her family.  Faith holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications with a concentration in graphic design.     

During her time on our team, Faith has enjoyed watching an idea turn into an actual business.  She also appreciates the company’s goal of helping military spouses find employment wherever they are located.

In her free time Faith loves crafting, baking and thrifting.

Children’s Book Author

​Rebecca Feng and her husband, a retired Army Reservist, live in the lovely state of Mississippi.  As a military spouse she experienced the upheaval of moving during her husband’s time in service.   She also spent 17 years as an elementary music educator helping anxious children settle into a new school and appreciate the gift of music.

Rebecca is excited to be part of the PCS Adventure team.  She aspires to write children’s books that provide encouragement and tools military children can use in their lives. Rebecca hopes children will turn moving into an adventure just like Smilla and Justin did in her book, “Smilla’s Big Move.”

Leigh is an Army brat who grew up moving throughout her childhood.  She has a bachelor’s in Marketing Communications from Florida State University and has completed masters level coursework in journalism.  She continued to move as an adult and eventually ended up living near West Point, New York where she grew up as a child.

With her love for people, Leigh fell into recruiting as a profession and works in corporate America as a talent acquisition professional.

Leigh has a special heart for kids and military families. Recently she developed a series of online children’s courses about the United States Military Academy for westpointcourses.com.

Leigh enjoys reading, traveling, supporting the Association of Graduates events team, and mentoring female cadets at USMA.  You can see her early in the morning hiking with her “polar bear” dogs Oso and Blue on the trails!

Children’s Content Creator

Leslie is an educator, an entrepreneur, and a mentor.  As the owner and director of Little Village Kids Family Care Center in Fairfield, OH, she leads an amazing staff of Early Childhood pros as they make a difference daily in their community.  Leslie also has a Masters Degree in Reading and Literacy fueling her 25+ years in education.  We are excited to have her as a member of our PCS Adventures Team.

Two Creative Digital Marketing.

Greg and Ethan make up the team at Two Creative Digital Marketing.  They built this website and they help with marketing, content creation, and tech support here at PCS Adventures.  These guys are truly patriotic Americans with a deep love and appreciation for military service people and their families.  Two Creative Digital has been our partner for several years and we're happy to have them on board for this new adventure.
